Canonsburg, PA - October 5, 2020 - The Annual Rodney Sparks Memorial Golf Scramble is hosted on the 2nd Thursday of July by the Marcellus & Utica Gas Suppliers, Services, and Manufacturers Association (MUG) in an effort to raise money for a charity within the Marcellus and Utica Shale region. This year, the sold out 6th annual event, raised $7,500 for the Christian Children’s Home of Ohio. The MUG was especially proud to sell out the event for the first time in its 6 year history during the COVID-19 pandemic. 130 golfers safely enjoyed the day on the Palmer Course at Oglebay Resort in Wheeling, West Virginia on July 9. Winning the scramble this year was U.S. Well Services. The night prior, MUG held its Annual Mixer at Oglebay Resort, which allowed industry professionals to network, enjoy BBQ provided by Country Roads BBQ, and listen to live music performed by the Good Guys.
The MUG would like to thank each of the Sponsor Companies for the event: One More Load Trucking, M J Painting Contractor Corp, Distribution NOW, Cross Country Infrastructure, Deep Well Services, Pipeline Systems, Inc., and Worthington Industries.
Next year, the 7th Annual Rodney Sparks Memorial Golf Scramble, MUG has both the Palmer and Jones courses reserved at Oglebay and hopes to have 30 foursomes playing on each course. The event will be held on July 8, 2021 with the Annual MUG Mixer on July 7, 2021 at Oglebay Resort. Further details will be released later this year on the website and registration will open in January.
The next MUG event is the Annual MUG Holiday Happy Hour and Toy Drive, which is planned for Monday, December 7 in the Southpointe area. More details will be posted on the website in November.
