Canonsburg, PA - November 23, 2021 - The Marcellus & Utica Gas Suppliers, Services, and Manufacturers Association (MUG) recently donated $2,000 of bicycles to One More Load Trucking’s 96.1 KISS Stuff-A-Bus campaign. This is MUG’s second year donating to this campaign on behalf of One More Load Trucking and look forward to seeing the number of bicycles donated increase year over year.

Stuff-A-Bus is the biggest event 96.1 KISS presents all year. Mikey and Big Bob from The Morning Freak Show live on an RV in the parking lot (HomeGoods side) and broadcast LIVE in an effort to stuff as many buses as possible with toys to benefit the Marines’ Toys for Tots. MUG and SPE Pittsburgh Donate to Veterans Leadership Program

MUG Board Members Zane Johnson, Chris LaBarte, and Walt Elmquist visited the Veterans Leadership Program in Pittsburgh, PA.

Canonsburg, PA - November 19, 2021 - The Marcellus & Utica Gas Suppliers, Services, and Manufacturers Association (MUG) and the Society of Petroleum Engineers Pittsburgh Section, recently made a $5,000 donation to the Veterans Leadership Program of Western PA. This donation was made possible from the proceeds of the cornhole tournament MUG, SPE, and the AADE Appalachian Basin Chapter held in October. The event, which was held at Helltown Taproom in Houston, PA, featured 50 teams and numerous sponsor companies.

7th Annual Rodney Sparks Memorial Golf Scramble Sets Record

Canonsburg, PA - November 17, 2021 - Earlier this year, the Marcellus & Utica Gas Suppliers, Services, and Manufacturers Association (MUG) hosted the 7th Annual Rodney Sparks Memorial Golf Scramble presented by Precision Pipe Rentals. This event is held the 2nd Thursday of July at Oglebay Resort which features a mixer the night before. This year’s event saw a record number of participants which sold out both the Jones and Palmer golf courses for the first time in the history of the event. MUG selected two West Virginia-based organizations to be the beneficiaries from the event this year: Chestnut Mountain Ranch and On Eagles’ Wings Therapeutic Horsemanship who each received $10,000 donations. The entire MUG Board of Directors would like to thank all who have been part of the organization over the years and attended this event. In just 7 years, this event has grown from under 10 foursomes to 50+ foursomes.

MUG Donates to Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus

Canonsburg, PA - July 18, 2021 - The Marcellus & Utica Gas Suppliers, Services, and Manufacturers Association (MUG) recently hosted a joint happy hour with the Ohio and Pittsburgh Chapters of the Women’s Energy Network. The event took place during the Ohio Oil & Gas Association’s Annual Meeting in Columbus, OH at World of Beers. This is the first time MUG has cohosted their happy hour in Columbus, but for the third year in a row, all proceeds generated from the event were donated to Nationwide Children’s Hospital. The event was well attended and a total of $2,876.12 was donated to the hospital.

In addition to WEN of Ohio and Pittsburgh, the event was sponsored by multiple companies that are located within the Marcellus & Utica gas regions. The Marcellus & Utica Gas Suppliers, Services, and Manufacturers Association (MUG) recently hosted a happy hour, the organization’s second event of 2021, at The Brickyard in Williamsport. The event was well attended and $2,000 was raised to donate to Partners in Progress, a nonprofit organization based in Mansfield, Pennsylvania.

Canonsburg, PA - May 19, 2021 - The Marcellus & Utica Gas Suppliers, Services, and Manufacturers Association (MUG) recently hosted a happy hour, the organization’s second event of 2021, at The Brickyard in Williamsport. The event was well attended and $2,000 was raised to donate to Partners in Progress, a nonprofit organization based in Mansfield, Pennsylvania.

Sponsors of the event included Vault Pressure Control, Mansfield Crane, Gator Transportation & Energy Services, Keystone Clearwater, Allison Crane & Rigging, Appellation Construction Services, Stallion, and Summit Casing Equipment. MUG would also like to thank Excel Site Rentals for donating Pittsburgh Pirate tickets as a raffle item.

The event was well attended and $2,000 was raised to donate to four organizations across Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia: Washington High Prexies Boosters (Washington, PA), PK Soccer Academy (Fairmont, WV), OHuddle Inc., (Wooster, OH), and Montgomery Youth Football & Cheerleading (Montgomery, PA).

MUG Donates Mittens and Winter Hats to STEP Head Start Mitten Tree Project

The Marcellus & Utica Gas Suppliers, Services, and Manufacturers Association (MUG) recently donated over 200 mittens and 200 winter hats to STEP, Inc.

Canonsburg, PA - December 30, 2020 - The Marcellus & Utica Gas Suppliers, Services, and Manufacturers Association (MUG) recently donated over 200 mittens and 200 winter hats to the STEP, Inc. Head Start Mitten Tree Project in Williamsport, PA. MUG was unable to host any events in the greater Williamsport area in 2020 due to unforeseen circumstances, but wanted to contribute to an organization’s good cause during the holiday season. Over the last few years, this project has been able to help more than 600 children and MUG is very proud to donate to such a great cause.

FTSI and MUG Outerwear Drive Benefits The United Way

The Marcellus & Utica Gas Suppliers, Services, and Manufacturers Association (MUG) assisted FTS International (FTSI) with an outerwear drive benefitting the United Way of Monongalia and Preston Counties in West Virginia.

Ryan Hager (FTS International) and Chris LaBarte (MUG) dropped off over 275 jackets to the United Way on Monongalia and Preston Counties on December 18.

Canonsburg, PA - December 18, 2020 - The Marcellus & Utica Gas Suppliers, Services, and Manufacturers Association (MUG) assisted FTS International (FTSI), a 2020 Yearly Gold Sponsor, with an outerwear drive benefitting the United Way of Monongalia and Preston Counties in West Virginia. MUG and Ryan Hager, who works for FTSI and is a Board Member of the United Way of Monongalia and Preston counties, collected new and gently used outerwear, including jackets, hats, mittens, and boots over the course of several weeks and donated the items on December 18 in Morgantown, West Virginia. In total, over 275 women’s, men’s, and children’s jackets, as well as a large number of outerwear accessories, were donated to the United Way’s Warm Hands, Warm Hearts campaign. All items collected will be distributed throughout Monongalia and Preston counties in West Virginia.

Canonsburg, PA - December 15, 2020 - The Marcellus & Utica Gas Suppliers, Services, and Manufacturers Association (MUG) recently held their 3rd Annual Holiday Happy Hour in Southpointe. Proceeds from the well attended event benefitted the Range Resources® Toys for Tots® campaign. A record 21 companies sponsored the event and multiple companies donated door prizes and raffle items which allowed the event to raise even more money for Toys for Tots®. MUG purchased over $5,400 of toys with the proceeds from the event and dropped them off to Range Resources on December 9. Range Resources finished their toy drive on December 15 and dropped off all the toys from their drive to the Washington Alliance Church in Washington, PA. All the toys from this drive will be distributed to children within Washington County this holiday season.

About MUG - The Marcellus & Utica Gas Suppliers, Services, and Manufacturers Association was formed in 2014. MUG is a 501 C (6) nonprofit organization with a volunteer-based Board of Directors and is funded by its Sponsor Companies. The MUG promotes responsible practices within the oil and gas industry and supports the local communities in which its Board Members and Sponsor Companies work and live in. With the help of the Sponsor Companies within the energy industry, MUG is able to host multiple events throughout the year and make donations to organizations within the Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia regions each year.
