MUG Makes Donation to the Christian Children's Home of Ohio
Canonsburg, PA - October 5, 2020 - The Annual Rodney Sparks Memorial Golf Scramble is hosted on the 2nd Thursday of July by the Marcellus & Utica Gas Suppliers, Services, and Manufacturers Association (MUG) in an effort to raise money for a charity within the Marcellus and Utica Shale region. This year, the sold out 6th annual event, raised $7,500 for the Christian Children’s Home of Ohio.

Canonsburg, PA - October 5, 2020 - The Annual Rodney Sparks Memorial Golf Scramble is hosted on the 2nd Thursday of July by the Marcellus & Utica Gas Suppliers, Services, and Manufacturers Association (MUG) in an effort to raise money for a charity within the Marcellus and Utica Shale region. This year, the sold out 6th annual event, raised $7,500 for the Christian Children’s Home of Ohio. The MUG was especially proud to sell out the event for the first time in its 6 year history during the COVID-19 pandemic. 130 golfers safely enjoyed the day on the Palmer Course at Oglebay Resort in Wheeling, West Virginia on July 9. Winning the scramble this year was U.S. Well Services. The night prior, MUG held its Annual Mixer at Oglebay Resort, which allowed industry professionals to network, enjoy BBQ provided by Country Roads BBQ, and listen to live music performed by the Good Guys.

Next year, the 7th Annual Rodney Sparks Memorial Golf Scramble, MUG has both the Palmer and Jones courses reserved at Oglebay and hopes to have 30 foursomes playing on each course. The event will be held on July 8, 2021 with the Annual MUG Mixer on July 7, 2021 at Oglebay Resort. Further details will be released later this year on the website and registration will open in January.
The next MUG event is the Annual MUG Holiday Happy Hour and Toy Drive, which is planned for Monday, December 7 in the Southpointe area. More details will be posted on the website in November.

MUG Makes Donation to the Greater Washington County Food Bank
Canonsburg, PA - April 8, 2020 - The Marcellus & Utica Gas Suppliers, Services, and Manufacturers Association (MUG) recently made a $500 donation to the food drive Consolidated Wellsite Services (CWS) held supporting the Greater Washington County Food Bank.
Consolidated Wellsite Services hosted a food drive on April 4 at Walmart in Washington, PA. MUG volunteered at the event and made a monetary donation to the drive.

MUG Donates to Range Resources and Pennsylvania General Energy's Toys for Tots Drives
Canonsburg, PA - December 22, 2019 - The Marcellus & Utica Gas Suppliers, Services, and Manufacturers Association (MUG) had a tremendous turnout at their annual Holiday Happy Hour & Toy Drive at All Star Sports Bar & Grill on December 9 in Southpointe.

Canonsburg, PA - December 22, 2019 - The Marcellus & Utica Gas Suppliers, Services, and Manufacturers Association (MUG) had a tremendous turnout at their annual Holiday Happy Hour & Toy Drive at All Star Sports Bar & Grill on December 9 in Southpointe. This was the final event of the year for the five year old nonprofit organization which had its most successful year in 2019. Attendees of the happy hour were asked to make a $20 donation and bring a toy to be donated to Toys for Tots. With over a hundred attendees, the MUG collected an estimated $2,000 worth of toys and raised over $4,000 the night of the event.
The open bar and success of the event was made possible by the gracious event sponsors: Gold Sponsors were Botha Trucking and One More Load Trucking; Silver Sponsors were NVI, Pipeline Systems, Staar Logistics, USA Compression, and Worthington Industries; Raffle Item Sponsors were Consolidated Wellsite Services and Hellbender Marketing.
On December 10, MUG took the estimated $2,000 worth of toys that were donated the night of the event to the Range Resources Toys for Tots drive which was then delivered to the Washington Alliance Church in Washington, PA. The following morning, after a shopping spree that included three overflowing carts and five bicycles, MUG donated roughly $2,000 worth of toys to the Pennsylvania General Energy Toys for Tots drive in Warren, PA.

MUG Makes Contribution to Drake Well Museum
Canonsburg, PA - November 19, 2019 - This past August, the Marcellus & Utica Gas Suppliers, Services, and Manufacturers Association (MUG) held their second quarter board meeting at the Drake Well Museum and Park in Titusville, PA and the following day the non-profit organization hosted the Oil Patch Memorial Golf Scramble at Foxburg Country Club to raise money for the museum.

Canonsburg, PA - November 19, 2019 - This past August, the Marcellus & Utica Gas Suppliers, Services, and Manufacturers Association (MUG) held their third quarter board meeting at the Drake Well Museum and Park and also hosted the Oil Patch Memorial Golf Scramble at Foxburg Country Club. Using funds raised from the golf outing, the Board of Directors voted in a unanimous decision to make a $2,000 donation to the Drake Well Museum and Park to fund an in-the-classroom program at multiple schools throughout Pennsylvania. The program is used to educate students about the rich history of the oil and gas industry in this region and also bring awareness to the benefits the industry provides to the local communities. Schools that will receive the in-the-classroom program are in Warren, PA, Sheffield, PA, Greensburg, PA, Washington County, PA, and South Fayette, PA. MUG is excited to continue the growth of the nonprofit and continue to extend its donations and community outreach throughout the Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia regions.

MUG Appoints Additional Board Members and New Executive Committee
Canonsburg, PA - July 26, 2019 - The Marcellus & Utica Gas Suppliers, Services, and Manufacturers Association (MUG) voted during the 2nd quarter board meeting to increase the number of Board Members from eight to eleven.
Canonsburg, PA - July 26, 2019 - The Marcellus & Utica Gas Suppliers, Services, and Manufacturers Association (MUG) voted during the 2nd quarter board meeting to increase the number of Board Members from eight to eleven. In a unanimous vote, the MUG Board of Directors nominated and appointed Tim Munksgard (Pennsylvania General Energy), Sean Rooney (Range Resources) and Tom Watkins (Sargent Sand). Their positions on the Board started July 1, 2019 and these individuals bring new ideas and a wealth of industry knowledge to the organization as it continues to grow. All three individuals have extensive experience within the energy industry and represent companies that have been cornerstones in the development of the Marcellus and Utica shale plays. In addition to the new Board Members, a change to the MUG Executive Committee went into effect on July 1, 2019. During the second quarter meeting, the MUG Board Members elected Zane Johnson, Sooner Pipe, as the President, Chris LaBarte, US Well Services, as the Vice President, and Crystal Miller, as the Executive Director. The Executive Committee also includes Damian Schmelzer, Worthington Industries, as the First Past President.

Canonsburg, PA - July 15, 2019 - The Marcellus & Utica Gas Suppliers, Services, and Manufacturers Association (MUG) recently donated $10,000 to Jamie’s Dream Team in McKeesport, PA. Proceeds were raised during the 5th Annual Rodney Sparks Memorial Golf Scramble at Oglebay Resort in Wheeling, WV July 10 and 11. MUG is in its fifth year of existence and this year’s event marks the largest donation in the history of the organization. Jamie’s Dream Team is an outstanding organization that grants dreams to those affected by serious illness, injury, disability, trauma, or catastrophic events. The organization is based out of McKeesport, PA, but grants dreams to individuals throughout the country. Jamie’s Dream Team was founded by Jamie Holmes Ward and has an amazing support team that assists in running the organization and has granted thousands of dreams in the fourteen years of existence.
The event this year was kicked off with the Annual MUG Mixer, held Wednesday, July 10 at the Waddington House at Oglebay Resort, which featured live music from the Good Guys, of Pittsburgh, PA, and a catered dinner from Country Roads BBQ, of Wheeling, WV. The following day, the MUG hosted a golf scramble with nineteen foursomes at the Palmer Course at Oglebay Resort. MUG was honored to have Jimmy, who is currently nine years old and was diagnosed with an optic pathway glioma brain tumor, and his family address the large turnout prior to the shotgun start. Jimmy is currently stable and has been able to stay off all of his meds for the last two years. His next scan in scheduled for August 8, 2019. This event’s proceeds were able to give Jimmy and his family his wish, a Disney Cruise this coming November.

Jamie founded Jamie’s Dream Team in 2005 when she was just eighteen (18) years old. The mission of Jamie’s Dream Team is to offer hope when there is little, to ease the burden caused by serious illness, injury, disability, trauma, or catastrophic events, and to finally celebrate individual differences by acknowledging dreams as possibilities. The purpose of Jamie’s Dream Team as a public charity is to provide assistance and/or make distributions to or on behalf of qualifying individuals who are handicapped, disabled, terminally ill, severely injured or suffering from a serious medical condition, disease, or trauma. Jamie’s Dream Team is managed by a nine (9) member community-based Board of Directors. All funds raised by or donated to Jamie’s Dream Team are used to further its charitable purpose.
Jamie was born with a rare disorder known as V.A.T.E.R. Syndrome. Children born with V.A.T.E.R. Syndrome can have congenital abnormalities of the vertebrae, lower intestine, trachea, esophagus, and kidneys. She was born with abnormalities in all those areas. Jamie has had over forty-five (45) surgeries and/or medical procedures since her birth, including surgeries to reconstruct her esophagus, trachea, and lower intestine, and to fuse several vertebrae in her spine. One (1) of her kidneys disintegrated and her remaining kidney does not fully function. Throughout all of this, Jamie started Jamie’s Dream Team to fulfill her dream of helping people of all ages who are suffering from serious illness, injury, disability or trauma.

The MUG hosted a happy hour event for industry professionals within the oil and gas industry at The Brickyard Restaurant & Ale House in Williamsport on May 2. The five year old nonprofit organization prides itself on giving back to the communities in the heart of the Marcellus and Utica Shale plays within Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. The monetary donation will be able to provide 12,000 meals to local residents in Central Pennsylvania. MUG Makes Donation to UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh in Honor of Isaac
The Marcellus & Utica Gas Suppliers and Manufactures Association (MUG) donated toys and made a $2,500 donation to UPMC Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh.
MUG Board Members Walt Elmquist, Todd Householder, Crystal Miller, and Chris LaBarte dropped off toy donations and $2,500 in proceeds raised from the MUG Holiday Happy Hour.
Canonsburg, PA - December 11, 2018 - The Marcellus & Utica Gas Suppliers and Manufactures Association (MUG) donated toys and made a $2,500 donation to UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. The toys and money were donated by attendees of the Holiday Happy Hour in on December 10 that MUG hosted at All Star Sports Bar & Grill in Southpointe. This was the first Holiday Happy Hour event hosted by MUG, which had a large turnout of energy industry professionals from within the upstream and midstream sectors of the oil and gas industry.
Thanks to the many sponsors, who covered the cost of the event, and those who donated items to be raffled, MUG was able to donate 100% of the money generated. The total donation to UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh was $2,500 along with hundreds of new toys that were donated by guests of the event. The donation was made in honor of Isaac, who recently completed his chemotherapy treatments at UPMC Children’s Hospital, and is the grandson of a long-time oil and gas industry professional and friend.
